CAROLYNN MAY .... Award Winning Entertainer

Carolynn May is an established Cabaret Artiste and also part of Supreme Dream, The Ulimate Motown Experience.

Although she enjoyed singing as a youngster, she only started singing professionally as part of a female harmony duo in the early 1990's and also as a part of a Boy/Girl comedy duo. In 1996 she started her solo career under the stage name of "Carolynn May" performing at various clubs, hotels and holiday centres in North Wales, Yorkshire and the North West.

She went on to win Artist of the year for three consecutive years (Huddersfield, Ashton-U-Lyne and Manchester) amongst many other awards.

Carolynn has a long history of performing on stage, she has been dancing since the age of 2 1/2 and took most of her childhood dance classes with the "Lynda Rudd school of dance" and adult dance tuition at "Hyde school of dance". During which time she has performed in lots of dance shows at Theatres throughout the North west and was a keen member of the local Amatuer dramatic society.

Since qualifying as a dance teacher she taught at "dancestyle" in Stalybridge for many years and when she re-located to Cadishead in 1998, she opened her own dance school "Stagecraft Dance & Theatre School" and has been teaching Dance, Drama and Singing to children and adults at Stagecraft since then. 

Carolynn has worked on TV as a Walk on artiste and extra in the past and has appeared on Sky1, Coronation street, Brookside, advertisements and shopping channels.

Carolynn took a break from Singing for a few years whilst building up the dance school business, but in July 2009 she re-introduced herself back onto the club circuit and in the short time she has been back, has been awarded Female artiste of the year 2010 in the Tameside area, Manchester.

Doing what she loves best "performing on stage" Carolynn is enjoying her time entertaining the audiences more this time round than ever before.

A good selection of songs are performed during one of Carolynn's shows. Songs included are from the 1930's through to present day and include a good selection of songs from musicals. Hopefully the variety of different material will suit most audiences.

Carolynn is a confident performer and interacts with the audience during her show, some songs have choreographed routines and she has recently added "send in the clowns" this is performed whilst transforming into a fully dressed clown on stage including full make up and goes down a treat with the audience.

A mixture of ballads, up tempo tunes and dance music creates the correct balance to the evening. 2 x 45 minute spots or 3 half hour spots are the norm, but arrangements for other time slots can be made.

Carolynn is fully self contained and has an excellent sound system, she is available for clubs, theatre, hotels, private parties, weddings and holiday centres.

Carolynn can also use club backing and musicians, but is in the process of having her sheet music up-dated and will inform you when this is completed.
